These framed prints are authentic facsimiles from John Gould’s Monograph of the Trochilidae, or Family of Hummingbirds, Volume II, originally published in 1861.
This edition was printed by Hill House Publishers in 1990. Hill House was awarded the right to create the facsimile using the original works held by the library of London's Natural History Museum. Each print was made using the traditional process of plates, ensuring the accuracy of the copy, right down to the blemishes and spots on the originals. These are truly remarkable copies and are said to be indistinguishable from the originals when viewed behind glass.
